Queer Theatre Workshop

Teater Dictat’s artistic director (Johan Svensson) and dramaturg (Matthew Short) will be hosting a queer theatre workshop as part of Malmö Pride 2022. The workshop will explore methods and techniques for reading, performing, and embodying the queer in existential and phenomenological art practices.
Using simple texts and personal experiences, we will collaboratively discuss and practice queer methods under the guidance of Johan and Matthew. There will also be an introduction to our upcoming production of Edward II by Christopher Marlowe, and excerpts from our prior adaptations of classic plays. The workshop is open to all LGBTQIA+ identifying people, and no prior experience of theatre is necessary. Teater Dictat aims to create a safe creative space.
The workshop will be delivered in English, but don’t let that stop you as we can easily use Swedish and provide texts in Swedish if necessary.
