Speaker: political activist Mira Iranpour, a trans woman from Iran, to talk about the LGBTQI+ rights in Iran.

Queer and Trans people in Iran experience oppression and persecution from the regime, as well as harassment from the people. Despite the lies often propogated by terfs, it is not easy for trans people to transition in Iran. This lie has been propagated to attack Trans rights globaly and has been used as a fear mongering tactic to label trans activism as forcing cis gay/lesbians to hetronormativity, by giving Iran as a false example. The speaker will debunk this myth while giving more information about the living experiences of the queer community in Iran and it’s resilience against the brutal regime.
