Healthcare For Trans Migrants in Sweden with RFSL Newcomers

In this panel talk, we will talk about access to adequate trans healthcare for refugees in Sweden, which remains a critical concern among trans newcomers. Trans refugees often encounter significant barriers when seeking necessary healthcare services. Limited availability of gender-affirming treatments, no placement in queues, and long waiting periods for hormonal treatment without the doctor’s referral from the country they fled from. The consequences are profound, as trans refugees often experience mental health problems and a decreased quality of life.
