Courageous writing (workshop)

The Courageous Writing is a two-part writing event hosted by Russian writer and educator Sveta Lukyanova.

The first part is a lecture about the meaning of courage in writing. Sveta will talk about her experiences growing up queer in a small town in Russia, writing and publishing queer autobiographical work in her homeland. She will discuss using text to stand up for oneself and how being courageous in art truly can help both the reader and the writer.

The second part is a workshop where we will engage in writing exercises to practice writing courageously and explore our emotions throughout the process. While sharing your work is not mandatory, participants are welcome to share their writing with the group, if they feel comfortable doing so.

The workshop will be conducted in English, but participants can write in any language.
