Trans, röst och sång

Silas Lilo aka Rembody håller i en lekfull workshop där vi utforskar röstens möjligheter i musik. Silas kommer att prata om röst-resan från en ljusare till en mörkare röst som sångare, i och med dens fysiska transition som transperson. Den kommer berätta om hur den hittat vägar att leka med och utforska ”nya” rösten och hur den gärna bråkar med normer för hur en förväntas sjunga utifrån idéer om kön och sång. Silas kommer visa sätt att leka med rösten med hjälp av grepp som sampling, pitch, harmonizer och lekfullhet och deltagarna får möjlighet att testa på själva.

Silas Lilo aka Rembody holds a playful workshop where we explore the possibilities of voice in music. Silas will talk about the voice journey from a lighter to a darker voice as a singer, with its physical transition as a trans person. They will tell about how they found ways to play with and explore the “new” voice and how they like to quarrel with norms for how one is expected to sing based on ideas about gender and song. Silas will show ways to play with the voice with the help of grips such as sampling, pitch, harmonizer and playfulness and the participants will have the opportunity to test themselves.
