Play practices: Reshuffling bodily relations

This is a performance duet that reshuffles traditional ideas of body and gender capabilities using techniques of partner acrobatics, contact improvisation and physical theatre. We are two queer women who use humor, creativity and physicality to engage with the audience on topics of gender, body empowerment and connection. We are interested in support and what it means to build comfort and connection with each others’ bodies with different kinds of touch and play. What if I need to slap instead of hug? What if I need to rest my head on your lap? Can we bite each other as well as caress? Can I climb on you? Can you climb on me? Can we collapse in a heap and just be?
